  • National Geographic, Live Prepared launch line of emergency preparedness products

    SALT LAKE CITY — National Geographic is partnering with Live Prepared, a division of Blue Chip Group and a leader in emergency preparedness, to bring consumers a line of high-quality preparedness products for natural disasters and unexpected events.

    The National Geographic collection will make its debut in major retail stores this summer and will consist of six key categories: water, food, first aid, shelter, energy and tools. The retail price of the products ranges from $4.99 to $99.00, according to a company spokesman.

  • Energizer to separate into two companies

    ST. LOUIS — Energizer Holdings on Wednesday announced that it's pursuing a plan to divide the company's household products and personal care divisions into two independent, publicly traded companies.

    Household products (batteries and portable lighting products) is expected to produce strong margins and significant cash flows and will be secured by the well-known Energizer and Eveready brands. This division reported annual revenue of $1.9 billion in the 12-month period ending March 31, 2014.

    HOUSTON — Last weekend marked the in-store retail debut of the Prettie Girls!, a line of multicultural dolls, at H-E-B stores. The dolls were well-received by customers and sold out completely after just a few hours, the grocer said.

  • Yankee Candle hosts a garden party

    SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. — The Yankee Candle Co. announced the launch of Dream Garden, a limited-edition collection of garden fragrances. The line was inspired by the garden parties and consists of three fragrances: Garden Time, Blue Lavender and Sweet Pink.

    Garden Time evokes the scent of fresh garden herbs; Blue Lavender mimics the scent of fresh lavender sprigs; and Sweet Pink contains a blend of sweet floral nectars.
