  • Tide preps for spring cleaning with latest addition

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble is introducing new Tide Oxi Multi-Purpose Stain Remover. The cleaner will hit shelves just in time for the annual spring cleaning tradition and will give consumers the ability to clean both in and out of the laundry room, the company said.

    Tide Oxi can be used to clean everything from carpet and upholstery to bathtubs and patio furniture. Consumers also can use it as an additive to laundry detergent as an added stain fighter.

  • Fred's paring its merchandising mix to favor pharmacy

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fred's Super Dollar will be exiting a number of front-end categories — including footwear, televisions/home theater and select home furnishings — in an effort to expand seasonal, health, beauty, pharmacy and OTC, in line with reconfiguration plan strategies, Fred's CFO Jerry Shore told analysts Thursday. 

  • Mars signs with licensee to bring branded apparel to retailers

    MOUNT ARLINGTON, N.J. — Mars Retail Group announced that it has signed Mad Engine as a new licensee to produce a range of apparel that will express the vividness of M&M's and Skittles brands. The apparel will be available at a variety of price points and include long- and short-sleeve T-shirts, knit tops, outerwear, fleece and hoodies.

    The new line could serve as a colorful focal point for retailers as they plan Back-to-College endcaps or holiday displays. Retailers may place orders in spring 2014 for distribution across the United States.
