Mielle, The Lip Bar’s limited-edition lipstick symbolizes sisterhood

Women’s History Month is in full swing and to mark the celebration, Mielle and The Lip Bar have come together to launch a limited-edition lipstick—TLB Nonstop Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Mielle Pink. 

Created by the founder and CEOs of their respective brands, the vibrant hue represents empowerment and champions all women to embrace their strength, individuality and confidence. 

DSN spoke to Monique Rodriguez, CEO of Mielle, and Melissa Butler, the founder and CEO of The Lip Bar, about the partnership. The executives noted that the joint work is an “inspiring collaboration between two of the most influential Black women-founded brands in the beauty space and a testament to sisterhoods creating legacies.”

The pink lippie, which has a liquid-to-matte formula with a velvet finish and includes moisture-rich ingredients for a hydrating and long-lasting effect came about as a “signature color that has proudly represented Mielle for the past decade. The iconic color also represents Monique and Melissa being unapologetically bold and limitless in their success journey,” the brands shared. 

Continuing to be unapologetically bold and limitless is a message Rodriguez and Butler want to carry into Women’s History Month and beyond. That is why it was so important for the two brands to collaborate on this new launch. 

“We’ve always supported and championed each other’s brands throughout the years; there’s room for everyone, and this collaboration is a testament to that. This Women’s History Month and beyond, we want to empower women to embrace their bold beauty unapologetically,” the executives shared. 

On the heels of launching the limited-edition lipstick, Mielle is looking to the future, noting that this year it is celebrating its 10 Years of beauty and innovation with various partnerships throughout the year, including ongoing partnerships with the WNBA, A’ja Wilson, JuJu Watkins, Howard University Swimming & Dive team, and FAMU Cheerleading.

The Lip Bar also is celebrating 12 years in the beauty industry by continuing their commitment to be a solution-driven brand with the launch of a new grant program ‘Bawse Ventures’—a micro fund that will invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs by awarding up to $25k in grant and seed funding.

The limited-edition Mielle Pink Nonstop Liquid Matte Lipstick retails for $13.99 and is available from March 3rd to May 18th on Target.com and at select Target stores nationwide.
