    PRINCETON, N.J. — Church & Dwight in April launched the First Response Digital Ovulation Test, a new at-home ovulation test that can detect a woman’s personal luteinizing hormone surge — the hormonal indication of ovulation — based on her own individual hormone levels.

    SUPPLIER NEWS — Ziploc has launched its Versa­Glass products, which are designed to go from the fridge to the microwave or oven — at temperatures of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit — and straight to the dinner table, the company said. The containers also are dishwasher-safe and available in six sizes, ranging from $4.19 to $8.99, or in a variety pack of three containers for $17.99.


  • Mylan receives FDA approval for generic Depakote Sprinkle capsules

    PITTSBURGH — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic drug for epilepsy made by Mylan.

    Mylan said Monday that the FDA had approved its divalproex sodium capsules in the 125-mg strength. The drug is a generic version of Abbott’s Depakote Sprinkle capsules and is used to treat certain types of epileptic seizures.

    Divalproex sodium capsules had sales of about $89 million during the 12-month period ended in March, according to IMS Health.

  • Bayer introduces reformulated aspirin

    MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Bayer has launched a reformulated aspirin called Bayer Advanced Aspirin that works in less than half the time of the company's regular aspirin, according to published reports.

    According to yet-to-be-published research, the new Bayer Advanced Aspirin can begin providing meaningful pain relief in as little as 16 minutes, compared with an average 100 minutes for the company's mainstay brand.

    SUPPLIER NEWS — SnackWell’s has overhauled its line of products for women with new portioned, indulgent snacks. The brand, which is owned by Kraft Foods, said the latest SnackWell’s treats will range from 100 to 150 calories per pack. The products, along with such classic SnackWell’s treats as devil’s food cookie cakes and creme sandwich cookies, will feature new and modern packaging. They made their debut nationwide in mid-April with a suggested retail price of $3.19 per box; each box features five individually portioned packs.
