  • Meijer launches complimentary Wi-Fi service in its stores

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Digital coupon use is at an all-time high with more than 2 million Meijer shoppers now subscribed to the free mPerks program, and Meijer has made significant investments to make digital savings easier for its customers, the supermarket retailer announced Tuesday.  

    The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer now has free Wi-Fi capability in all its stores, making it easier for customers to access their mPerks accounts and the Meijer mobile app, freeing up their smartphone data plans for other uses.

  • Nordic Naturals launches Omega Boost

    WATSONVILLE, Calif. — Nordic Naturals earlier this year launched Omega Boost, featuring 525 mg of omega-3s per serving. Sugar-free and sweetened with xylitol, Omega Boost is made from purified fish oil from anchovies and sardines, and offers fast absorption of the omega-3 fats EPA and DHA. Each 6-oz. bottle contains 35 servings, and has a convenient flip cap for easy pouring.

    FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly Candy Company is set to unveil a new flavor to its collection: the Draft Beer Jelly Belly jelly bean. Jelly Belly will debut the new flavor at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and ISM in Cologne, Germany. The beer flavor has been a popular request by consumers for decades, the company said.

  • FDA approves Mekinist in combination with Tafinlar to treat patients with advanced melanoma

    NEW YORK — The Food and Drug Administration recently approved Mekinist (trametinib) in combination with Tafinlar (dabrafenib) to treat patients with advanced melanoma that is unresectable (i.e., cannot be removed by surgery) or metastatic (i.e., late-stage), Onco360 announced last week. 

    Both Mekinist and Tafinlar are only available in limited distribution, and Onco360 is one of the few pharmacies with access to both medications.

  • Emmi-Tech develops new 'Nature' toothpaste

    LAS VEGAS — Emmi-Tech, the distributor of the Emmi-dent Ultrasound toothbrush, has unveiled a new gluten-free, fluoride-free and paraben-free toothpaste called Nature.

    According to the company, the new Nature toothpaste creates nano-bubbles that are imploded by the ultrasound waves of the toothbrush to remove bacteria, plaque, tartar, small food scraps and stains.
