  • SunChips adds 6 Grain Medley snacks to lineup

    PLANO, Texas — SunChips has expanded its portfolio to include a new line of snacks that are made with a combination of six grains.

    New SunChips 6 Grain Medley snacks are inspired by real food flavors and made with such grains as corn, wheat, oats, brown rice, buckwheat and quinoa. The new line is available in parmesan and herb and creamy roasted garlic flavors.

  • Kimberly-Clark seeks to enhance global business plans with executive changes

    DALLAS — Kimberly-Clark announced the transition of two executives to new roles at the company.

    The company said Kimberly-Clark Professional president Christian Brickman has been elected to serve as president Kimberly-Clark International. The current president of the company's international division, Bob Black, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Replacing Brickman in his current role is Elaine Stock, who currently serves as Kimberly-Clark's SVP and chief strategy officer.

  • Buying local produce edges out buying organic, Mintel research finds

    CHICAGO — Despite the recent organic product boom, it seems that many consumers are putting more of an emphasis on buying local produce over organic options.

    According to recent Mintel research, more than half (52%) of consumers said locally-sourced products are more important that organic products. What's more, according to Mintel's Global New Products Database, fruit products with a natural/organic claim have declined 58% between 2008 and 2011, while vegetable product launches with that claim have decreased by 77% during the same time period.

  • International Delight brings iced coffee to retail

    BROOMFIELD, Colo. — International Delight has launched a ready-to-serve line of iced coffee.

    The company said its iced coffee — brewed with 100% premium Arabica coffee — is the first of its kind to combine coffee, real milk and cream in a ready-to-serve half-gallon container.

  • Kraft Foods picks new name for global snacks business

    NORTHFIELD, Ill. — In an effort to reflect the split of its global snacks and North American grocery businesses, Kraft Foods said it plans to change its corporate name Mondelez International.

    Mondelez is a word coined by the company that "evokes the idea of 'delicious world,'" featuring "monde," The Latin word for "world" and "delez," a fanciful expression of "delicious," the company said of the new name for its global snacks business.

  • Minute Maid debuts light lemonade line

    HOUSTON — Minute Maid is shaking up the juice aisle with a lighter version of its lemonade beverages.

    The company said its light lemonade line will include light lemonade and light pink lemonade varieties. Each beverage, which touts 15 calories per serving, will be packaged in clear 59-oz. recyclable PET bottles that "allows people to see the goodness inside," the company said.
