  • Sabra introduces Season's Finest hummus

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Sabra has introduced a limited-edition hummus product in time for the holiday season.

    Made with rosemary, olive oil and sea salt, Sabra Season's Finest hummus is a gluten-free and certified kosher product and features a specially designed metallic foil packaging.

    Season's Finest hummus can be found in the 17-oz. size at grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest, New England and New York metro area, and in the 25-oz. size at Sam's Club stores nationwide through early January.

  • Nestlé Crunch introduces limited-edition candy bar for holidays

    GLENDALE, Calif. — Nestlé Crunch has unveiled a limited-edition chocolate bar that will be available this holiday season.

    Partnering with Paul Frank Industries, the candy is a 2.75-oz. bar tucked inside a colorful gift envelope, which doubles as a holiday card and features characters from the Paul Frank collection, including Julius the Monkey and Clancy the Giraffe.

  • 'The Help' debuts at retail

    NEW YORK — A film based on a bestselling novel by Kathryn Stockett will make its debut in Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, digital download and on-demand formats on Dec. 6.

    "The Help," starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Bryce Dallas Howard, tells the story of women in the the 1960s South who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project.

    "The Help" has been packaged as follows:

    • 3-disc Blu-ray combo pack (Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy) for $44.99;

  • Smith's introduces all-natural sour cream

    ORRVILLE, Ohio — Smith's has launched its latest sour cream product.

    Smith's all-natural sour cream is made with grade A and pasteurized milk and cream, and the product also is gluten-free and KO Kosher-certified. Smith's all-natural sour cream also touts 60 calories per 2-tablespoon serving.

    Smith's all-natural sour cream is packaged in 16-oz. containers at suggested retail pricing of $2.29 to $2.49.

  • Ivana B Skinny cocktails hit store shelves

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A new line of 100-calorie cocktails has hit store shelves.

    International Spirits said its Ivana B Skinny cocktails are wine-based cocktails that are available in margarita, cosmopolitan and appletini flavors. Each cocktail features 10% alcohol and less than 100 calories per 5-oz. serving.

  • Kerr Drug launches holiday donation drive

    RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug's philanthropic arm is launching a food and toy drive for the holidays, the company said Wednesday.

    The Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation is placing collection bins at Kerr Drug stores, where customers can purchase and donate toys and food items. After Dec. 21, the items will be donated to local charities.

    The drive follows a school supply collection in August and a Thanksgiving food collection in November that helped 90 organizations across North Carolina.

  • FDA appeals preliminary injunction of new anti-smoking packaging graphics

    WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday appealed a recent District Court ruling that had placed a preliminary injunction on new, graphic anti-smoking messages that were to be placed on cigarette packaging as of September 2012. The five tobacco company plaintiffs argued that the mandated graphics violate the First Amendment.

    The appeal moves the case to to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
