  • Want to live 'future friendly?' There's an app for that

    NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Procter & Gamble announced that it has teamed up with its grocery retail partners to create a mobile application designed to help consumers live and shop more sustainably.

    The app, called "My Carbon Footprint," works on iPhone, iPad or Droid devices. It is an interactive, social media-enabled carbon footprint gauge powered by P&G's Future Friendly initiative, P&G reported. It will become available on Earth Day, April 22.

  • Orville Redenbacher 'pops'

    OMAHA, Neb. — A popcorn brand is rolling out a new bag that gives way to easy sharing and cleanup, the company said.

    Orville Redenbacher's pop up bowl is a ready-to-serve, free-standing bowl, a first for the brand, the company said. How it works: the pop up bowl cooks on its side and features a transparent top, allowing snack lovers to watch their popcorn pop and see when it’s ready.

    The pop up bowl, now available at grocery and mass retailers nationwide, retails for $2.99 for a 3-pack and $4.49 for a 6-pack.

  • Hansen's sweetens beverages with Truvia

    MINNEAPOLIS — Hansen's is introducing two beverages that tout natural, zero-calorie sweetener Truvia.

    Hansen's Natural Fruit Stix and Tea Stix offer consumers a new way to enjoy great-tasting beverages in a water-soluble powdered drink mix, the company said, adding that each serving contains 100% of the daily recommended dose of vitamin C. Each serving also touts 5 calories per serving and is free of sugar, gluten and artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors or preservatives, according to the company.

  • P&G's latest BrandSaver highlights contest winners, Future Friendly products

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble's latest BrandSaver coupon booklet, which will be released next week, will feature entries from P&G Future Friendly's Find Your Footprint student contest.

    The contest, which was hosted in conjunction with National Geographic, demonstrated the importance of conserving natural resources, as well as simple steps consumers can take in their homes to improve their own environmental performance.

  • Snapple finds teammate in 'The Amazing Race'

    PLANO, Texas — Snapple coincided the launch of its limited-edition tea with CBS reality show "The Amazing Race."

    Snapple's papaya mango tea made its debut on the program as competitors made a pitstop in India. The iced tea company said the new tea will be supported with TV advertising throughout the season that will air during each episode of "The Amazing Race" on CBS.

    MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J. — In celebration of spring, Mrs. Butterworth's syrups will be outfitted in limited-edition seasonal bottles.

    Available at select retailers, each of the three limited-edition bottles will feature a unique spring look.

  • Ready, set, blow: American Greetings introduces latest birthday card innovation

    CLEVELAND — American Greetings said it is revolutionizing the tradition of blowing out birthday candles into a multisensory experience.

    With its new Ready, Set, Blow line of greeting cards, the recipient is prompted to blow on the card upon opening it. A special sensor is then activated, making the festive scene come to life with LED lights, as well as either an exciting birthday song or sound. In each card, a breath of air extinguishes birthday candles, activates horns and lights or recreates a childhood wish on a dandelion, American Greetings said.

  • Mars Chocolate revitalizes Kudos

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate said its Kudos brand will debut a new and improved line of granola bars this May.

    Kudos will don flavors from M&M's, Dove and Snickers in a 10-count pack and a 30-count variety pack.

    What's more, a marketing campaign will kick off to celebrate the Kudos granola bars, which will include a refreshed website at KudosBar.com and cross promotions with others Mars Chocolate brands.

    Kudos 10-count and 30-count variety packs will retail for $2.99 and $6.99, respectively.
