  • Angry Orchard debuts new hard cider variety

    CINCINNATI — Angry Orchard announced the national release of Angry Orchard Green Apple hard cider. The cider, which will appear on store shelves this week, has the tartness of a green apple and is the first year-round style of Angry Orchard hard cider made with American apples, the company said.

  • C&D gets FDA clearance for advanced pregnancy test kit, launches new app

    EWING, N.J. — Church & Dwight on Tuesday announced that the Food and Drug Administration has cleared the First Response Gold Digital Pregnancy Test to determine if a woman is pregnant up to six days before her missed period and with more than 99% accuracy from the day of her expected period. In addition, the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, which was previously cleared to determine if a woman is pregnant up to six days before her missed period, also has been FDA-cleared to detect pregnancy with more than 99% accuracy from the day of her expected period.

  • Bydureon pen gets FDA approval

    WILMINGTON, Del. — AstraZeneca received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its Bydureon pen (exenatide extended-release for injectable suspension) 2-mg, which is to be used as an addition to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with Type 2 diabetes.

    The Bydureon pen is a pre-filled, single-use pen injector, which eliminates the need for the patient to transfer their medication between a vial and syringe during the process of self-injection. The pen contains the same formula and dose as the original Bydureon single-dose tray.

  • Teva announces launch of Adasuve

    JERUSALEM — Teva Pharmaceutical Industries announced the launch of Adasuve (loxapine) inhalation powder in a 10-mg dosage. The drug is the first and only orally inhaled medicine for the acute treatment of agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder in adults.

  • Oral-B launches oral care app for children to help increase brushing time

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble’s Oral-B has announced the launch of an oral care app for children — the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral-B.

    Created in collaboration with Disney and powered by DreamPlay, the oral care app is designed to helps kids increase brushing time, which is identified by dentists as an area of concern and improvement for children.
