  • SunChips adds 6 Grain Medley snacks to lineup

    PLANO, Texas — SunChips has expanded its portfolio to include a new line of snacks that are made with a combination of six grains.

    New SunChips 6 Grain Medley snacks are inspired by real food flavors and made with such grains as corn, wheat, oats, brown rice, buckwheat and quinoa. The new line is available in parmesan and herb and creamy roasted garlic flavors.

    New Adams Smart Shield applicator delivers an application of Adams Flea and Tick Spot On products, providing fast, effective treatment down to pet's skin, where bugs live. The applicator creates a barrier that helps to prevent getting liquid on pet owners' hands, has a specially-designed tip to part hair and help get down to the pet's skin, and clicks to deliver uniform application.

    WILTON, Conn. — A small product is looking to change the laundry detergent category in a big way.

    All announced the debut of its Mighty Pacs, which are premeasured doses of super concentrated detergent that help get out tough dirt and stains in a convenient, easy-to-use single dose pack. Sealed in a water-soluble film, All Mighty Pacs dissolve completely in hot and cold water to release the detergent with active All StainLifters.

  • Minute Maid debuts light lemonade line

    HOUSTON — Minute Maid is shaking up the juice aisle with a lighter version of its lemonade beverages.

    The company said its light lemonade line will include light lemonade and light pink lemonade varieties. Each beverage, which touts 15 calories per serving, will be packaged in clear 59-oz. recyclable PET bottles that "allows people to see the goodness inside," the company said.

  • Starbucks 'refreshes' ready-to-drink offerings at retail

    SEATTLE — Starbucks has made its global entry into the energy category with a new line of ready-to-drink beverages.

    Starbucks said its Starbucks Refreshers line combines green coffee extract (made with 100% Arabica beans) with a boost of natural energy from caffeine and fruit juice. Each 12-oz. can touts 60 calories.

    Starbucks Refreshers, currently sold at select stores, are available in raspberry pomegranate, strawberry lemonade and orange melon varieties.

  • Kimberly-Clark seeks to enhance global business plans with executive changes

    DALLAS — Kimberly-Clark announced the transition of two executives to new roles at the company.

    The company said Kimberly-Clark Professional president Christian Brickman has been elected to serve as president Kimberly-Clark International. The current president of the company's international division, Bob Black, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Replacing Brickman in his current role is Elaine Stock, who currently serves as Kimberly-Clark's SVP and chief strategy officer.

    New Stouffer's Farmers' Harvest steam meals-for-one line offers single-serve meals that are packaged in a new Steam Perfect Bag to deliver a flavorful, no-fuss meal in minutes, the company said.

  • Buying local produce edges out buying organic, Mintel research finds

    CHICAGO — Despite the recent organic product boom, it seems that many consumers are putting more of an emphasis on buying local produce over organic options.

    According to recent Mintel research, more than half (52%) of consumers said locally-sourced products are more important that organic products. What's more, according to Mintel's Global New Products Database, fruit products with a natural/organic claim have declined 58% between 2008 and 2011, while vegetable product launches with that claim have decreased by 77% during the same time period.
