Olaplex caters to curly hair textures via Bond Shaping Technology
Olaplex’s latest product launch, designed to support curly hair of all types and textures, aims to repair the internal hair structure to strengthen and reshape curl-forming bonds.
New from the brand is its Bond Shaping Technology, which is created to serve the full range of curl types and textures ranging from wavy 2a to 2c, curly from 3a to 3c, and coily from 4a to 4c.

The product allows cortex-deep penetration to help reconnect and strengthen multiple points of a disulfide bond and utilizes a unique peptide that is composed of 23 amino acids, Olaplex shared.
Other ingredients found in the product include coconut-avocado milk to help fortify curls and reduce breakage; a curl retention compound to aid in forming a curl-locking barrier to maintain definition; and its Olaplex Bond Building Technology.
“We developed Bond Shaoer with Olaplex’s new patented Bond Shaping Technology, " explains Lavinia Popescu, chief scientist at Olaplex. “This technology combined with Curl Retention Compound and other ingredients in these products forms a curl-locking barrier to maintain the definition, smoothness and shine of each individual curl. The science behind this technology is truly unique and with Olaplex’s leadership in the bond-building category, we were able to leverage that expertise and apply it in a completely new way to service consumers with a wide variety of curl patterns.”

The Bond Shaper range includes:
- Bond Shaper Curl Rebuilding Treatment: A 3-in-1 curl restoring salon service that helps repair, rebuild and redefine curls; and
- No. 10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel: A reparative curl-defining styling gel that helps revive natural curl patterns and enhances them for added shine and strengthened disulfide bonds.
Olaplex’s Bond Shaper Curl Rebuilding Treatment is available at salons within its network, and the No. 10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel is available to purchase wherever the brand’s products are currently sold.
