  • ECRM acquires product discovery platform RangeMe

    SOLON, Ohio and SAN FRANCISCO — Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing has acquired a technology company that has been changing how retailers discover new suppliers.

    The company on Tuesday announced the acquisition of RangeMe, which streamlines new product discovery in a way that ECRM said will complement the foundation it has laid in helping buyers discover new products and improve category planning effectiveness.

  • L’Oréal USA makes progress on its sustainability goals

    NEW YORK — L’Oréal USA on Wednesday shared the progress it has made in its sustainability efforts, Sharing Beauty for All.

    The achievements include 100% renewable electricity for its U.S. manufacturing, an 84% reduction in carbon emissions and a slashing its water usage 52%. Additionally, the company’s waste per finished product has been reduced by 43%, as it simultaneously makes improvements in package design.

  • Jennifer Lopez teams with Designer Parfums to grow fragrance line

    NEW YORK — Prestige beauty company Designer Parfums on Monday announced a new partnership with actress, singer, entertainer and producer Jennifer Lopez to expand her fragrance house. She will work alongside the company’s chairman and CEO Dilesh Mehta to create a new brand strategy and innovation to drive growth for her fragrance franchise. 

    Lopez launched her debut fragrance in 2003, and has launched 23 fragrances since.

  • Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty hits mass with Target launch

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target has been selling Jessica Alba’s Honest Co. household, personal care and baby products for several years, but now the retailer’s beauty aisle will be is the site of Honest Beauty's is launching its beauty line through the retailer for its first mass-market retail launch. Alba made the announcement in a blog post for Target’s A Bullseye View blog. 
     
  • Roses for Autism launches charity perfume

    GUILFORD, Conn. — With April and National Autism Awareness Month on the horizon, nonprofit Roses For Autism, which provides career training for transition-age students with autism at Pinchbeck Farm here, has created and launched Ardent Rose perfume, whose sales will benefit the organization’s training program. 
     
  • Beauty app-splosion

    Beauty brands are rushing to add apps as a ploy to allow shoppers to experiment with beauty more often, while also eliminating the need for consumers to return products because of disappointment in shades. If a brand doesn’t have an app now, it probably will this year.

    NBC's Today show spoke with some of Hollywood's top celebrity beauty experts to get the scoop on the best drug store beauty products to help battle the winter elements.

    The network also highlighted the beauty products in one of its beauty segments and in a feature online.

    The majority of the products can be found at drug and mass retailers.
