  • Goldstein Group unveils brand rejuvination for Bayer's Neo-Synephrine

    MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Bayer recently engaged the Goldstein Group to rejuvenate the cough-cold Neo-Synephrine brand and improve the brand's identity on shelf.

    The brand design group employs such tools as its trademarked Shelf Sight Sequence, a packaging design service that improves shelf presence with "a visual vocabulary of proprietary colors, shapes, symbols and verbiage ... to trigger the consumer's purchasing impulse at first sight."

  • Family Dollar getting executive suite in place before new store, expanded assortment push

    MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores on Monday named Paul White to the position of EVP and chief merchandising officer. White will report to Mike Bloom, president and COO.

    “Through Paul’s leadership and strategic vision, Family Dollar has created a compelling mix of discretionary merchandise, which has led to a more fun place to shop for our customers,” Bloom said. “Paul’s promotion will help us continue to broaden our appeal and deliver greater value to our customers.”

  • ERSP challenges stem cell claims made by online marketer Emergent Health

    NEW YORK — The Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program on Wednesday recommended that Emergent Health modify or discontinue certain Internet advertising claims for the company’s “JDI MultiVitamin,” promoted by the advertiser as designed to “increase adult stem cells.” The marketer voluntarily modified several claims at issue in ERSP’s inquiry.

  • Mentholatum names new senior directors of marketing, sales

    ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Mentholatum on Thursday announced two executive moves. Jean Legros was appointed to the role of senior director of marketing overseeing all brands, and Brian Rola was promoted to senior director of U.S. sales.

    Legros has domestic and international experience and began his career in brand management for food products in France and has held marketing and business development positions at Mead Johnson Nutritionals and Dannon, prior to joining Mentholatum.

    CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid experienced stronger sales in third quarter 2012 as it expanded its Wellness+ loyalty card program and saw continued growth in flu immunizations and the Wellness store format, the company said Thursday.
